About Army institute of Law (AIL), Mohali

The Army Institute of Law Mohali was established in 1999 by the Indian Army under the Army Welfare Education Society. The institute was initially established in Patiala and shifted to its current location in Mohali in July 2003. AIL is affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala and is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). It is also accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B grade. The Army Institute of Law rankings by the NIRF 2022 are 26th out of the Top 30 institutes of India and 10th by India Today in the Top Emerging Colleges category. 

The Army Institute of Law course admissions are done in two courses namely BA LLB and LLM. Army Institute of Law Admission Criteria

  • The Army Institute of Law admission is based on an entrance test conducted by the institute itself. The  Army Institute of Law Entrance Test (AIL LET) is held online under the supervision of AWES for admission to 75 seats for the wards of army personnel.
  • AIL will hold online LET under the supervision of AWES for admission to 75 seats for the wards of army personnel.
  • A separate admission exam would be required for 05 seats in the All-India Category.
  • Both Army and All India Category candidates will be invited to counselling based on their written test results. If an applicant is deemed eligible for admission on the day of counselling, they will be admitted.
  • It has been announced that admission to 20 seats in the Punjab Category would be determined by a combination of 10+2 merits set out by the nominated institution.

The Army Institute of Law Mohali placements are conducted by the placement cell at the institute.
